About us
Margo and Gustaf Obernik
Founded in 1941 by Gustaf Obernik, Solvar stemmed from his fascination with Ireland's heritage and the surge in tourism he witnessed at the Gap of Dunloe, Co Killarney. This ignited his passion to design and create jewellery that captured the essence of Ireland.
Dublin City
Our humble beginnings started with just two employees at No.10 Harcourt Street in Dublin City. Mr Obernik quickly gained recognition for his beautiful pieces inspired by Celtic designs and Irish history.
Handcrafted with skill
We remain committed to using high-quality materials to craft timeless pieces that honour Ireland's cultural legacy. Our collections feature iconic Irish symbols like the Claddagh, the Celtic knot, and the shamrock, ensuring a piece of Ireland for everyone.
